Bob Held

Bob has close to 20 years in the business of intellectual property (IP) and specializes in various IP services including monetization, management, and strategy.  Bob recently worked for Telecommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) in Annapolis, Maryland as the Vice President, Intellectual Asset Management.  All assets of TCS were acquired in February 2016.  Immediately prior to joining TCS, Bob worked for Northrop Grumman Corporation, Electronic Systems Sector from 2003-2011 as the Director of the Intellectual Property & Strategic Technology Agreements business unit; and from 1998- 2003 he worked at the IP firm British Technology Group (BTG) International out of London.  Bob has been the architect of hundreds of IP transactions around the world involving many types of technologies which generated hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue, and is a frequent lecturer and instructor at business and professional programs.  Bob is the co-author of two royalty rate surveys for the Licensing Executives Society (LES) entitled LES High-Tech Sector Royalty Rate and Deal Terms Survey 2011 and LES High-Tech Sector Royalty Rate and Deal Terms Survey 2014.

Bob has been a Certified Licensing Professional (CLP) since 2008 and was named to the “IAM Strategy 300 – The World’s Leading IP Strategists” in 2015, 2016 and 2017. Bob is also a member of the Gathering 2.0 – an elite group of senior intellectual property operating company professionals from around the world.  Bob has been active in the Licensing Executives Society (LES) USA and Canada since 1998, a 2500-member professional licensing society (LES). Bob has served on the LES Board since 2012 and in October 2017 was elected to the position of President-elect and Chair-elect of the Board for 2018-2019.

Bob received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree from Villanova University and his MBA (Magna Cum Laude) from Drexel University’s LeBow College of Business.
