Dr. MARC PERRON, Ing.

Marc Perron founded a high-tech company specialized in embedded software and technology transfer in the field of power electronics applications such as electric motor control and solar power conversion. Since 2008, he has also served as Technical Advisor at IEEE Industrial Electronics Society (IES) Electronic System-on-Chip Committee which he now Chairs. This committee gathers the world’s top academic and industrial leaders of FPGA, IP and EDA technologies applied to power electronics applications.

Previously, Marc worked as a Research & Development Engineer at Microcell Connexions (telecommunication), Centre Hydraulique Hydrep Inc. (automotive), and TechHydro Inc. (power generation). He has also been a Software Engineer at Corel Corporation as well as Motorola Canada Software Center.

Marc earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Université Laval, and has received both Canadian National and Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) industrial scholarships. He also holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the Université de Sherbrooke, where he also earned his Master of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering and a B.A. certificate from the Université de Sherbrooke and McGill University.
